At Medusa's level with no reflection and no blindfold

I reached Medusa and haven't yet found a source of reflection, and
also no blindfold or towel to protect me from her gaze. Decided to
dig past her lair to get to the Castle; I have a bugle at least to
(hopefully) get the wand. I may have to spend a wish on a towel, I
suppose.

you can blind yourself by engraving with a /ol before fighting medusa. Also insteand of whishing for a towel just wish for SDSM or "oR

I was reluctant to waste a charge, and wasn't sure how many turns of
blindness you are guaranteed. But yes, that should work. I also have
a potion of blindness, so I can spare the valuable lightning charge.

Well, I have a GDSM and want to keep that. But, of course, a wish for
the amulet of reflection makes much more sense.[*] Thanks!

Meanwhile I dove into the Valley in hope for the towel and quaffed a
blessed potion of object detection; but nothing appropriate to see.
I guess it's now either the wish for the amulet - I want it anyway -,
or enhance experience to XL:14, and levelport to my (ranger) quest,
which has the reflecting Longbow of Diana. Preference is the amulet;
I might otherwise by brainlessness forget to wield that bow.

[*] My brain must have been eaten (and not the first time[**]) by a
MF/MMF to not have thought about the most obvious. %-)

[**] I used the throne wish for GDSM, not considering that I had got
the Magicbane; if I had wished for the amulet instead I would not
have lost my ring of regeneration (and some wands) in a giant's wand
of lightning attack. The Castle also provided gray scales (later) so
I maybe - but one can't be sure! - could have manufactured the GDSM.

Still more ways to blind yourself: Apply a camera or cream pie to
yourself, drink a potion of blindness or polymorph into something
without eyes.

I'm not sure about the duration on the first two, but you really only
need a few turns since you can beat her instantly with a mirror.
