Are there any blind players here?
According to the guidebook, there is a possibility.

These days this newsgroup generally isn't populated any more
(compared to the times when NH-343 came out), and probably even
less by blind folks. So chances are not that good that you will
get a response.

I seem to recall, though, that long ago there was some interest
and some exchange here concerning that topic. So you might find
some hints if you google/search the newsgroup archives of RGRN.

Not me, sorry, but I'm really interested in this topic, for various
reasons: if you learn some concrete and good solutions, could you please
post them here?

I spent some time reading a Master thesis published some years ago where
an attempt was made to describe the map, but it was rather limited;
I even asked 2 interns to think about it from recent AI perspective, but
they did not progress enough in this direction, it was too hard.
So far, afaik, it boils down using a basic screen reader, but that's
quickly really very annoying I can imagine.

The map can be printed to paper with a Braille-like tilemap. Many of the tiles could be printed as they are,
alphabet would require Braille. Assume you have this, what could you do with it?
